Architas announces changes to its investment management team

28 April 2020: Multi-manager Architas, part of the global AXA Group, today announced a series of changes to the investment management of its UK funds. As part of these changes the Diversified Real Assets Fund will now be managed by current co-manager Mayank Markanday with the support of Shayan Ratnasingam*. This follows the decision of Solomon Nevins to leave Architas after 10 years to pursue other opportunities in the industry.

In other changes, investment manager Jen Causton, who has been with Architas for over 10 years, is taking on co-management responsibility for the Architas MM Monthly High Income and Diversified Global Income Funds and the Architas Positive Future Fund. The Architas Positive Future Fund will now be co-managed by Jen Causton, Deputy CIO Sheldon MacDonald and Shayan Ratnasingam with the Architas MA Blended range being co-managed by Mayank Markanday and Sheldon MacDonald.

Jaime Arguello, CIO, Architas:

“We wish Solomon well after his successful time at Architas but are very pleased to be able to promote existing talent. Mayank has become an integral part of the team since he joined three years ago to co-manage the Diversified Real Assets Fund. He will now be joined by Shayan Ratnasingam who has been closely involved with the Fund in his role as specialist property and thematic analyst. They will both continue to be supported by the relevant analysts covering credit, infrastructure and other alternative asset classes within the wider investment team.

“Jen Causton joined the investment team in 2012 and has over 14 years investment experience. Her main analyst role has been to cover UK equities and property while also managing the Architas MM UK Equity Fund. Jen will now be working with senior investment manager Nathan Sweeney to manage our income generating funds, including the MM Monthly High Income and the Architas Diversified Global Income Funds.

“We have built a strong investment team in the UK, which is now supported by the investment expertise of our new Dublin based business. As part of these latest changes it’s great to be able to give greater responsibility to those members of the team who have developed their skills within Architas. The Architas investment team is focused solely on research and analysis of the best funds to sit in our portfolios. Each and every member of the team has an analyst role and is responsible for covering a limited numbers of sectors. This gives the managers of each portfolio the best support when selecting the underlying funds to hold.

“Along with these internal changes we will also be recruiting to add to our investment team both in London and Dublin.”
